It is the root of the term “teleology”, roughly the study of purposiveness, or the study of objects with a view to their aims, purposes, or intentions.

WHY

Why do people look for meaning? What makes us get up every morning?

The answer is “ourselves”, or rather: each of us is the reason for being that we incarnate and live

Reason in fact indicates meaning, while being expresses the concept of existence and identity.

Today there is a strong awareness, especially among the new generations, of the importance of finding meaning also in the work we do. We human beings want the organizations we make to contribute positively to the enhancement of people and the environment.

Why companies and organizations need to find their own purpose? To get in touch with the values and principles of their most important resource: people.

The changes that have occurred, even more recently, such as in the case of the Covid-19 emergency, are not only very complex, but also indicative of the need to change many of the increasingly less efficient socio-economic approaches.

Digitization and artificial intelligence require organizations to adapt to change quickly or to anticipate it by cultivating a culture that puts people at the center. A challenge but also a model for social advancement.

Sometimes we need to go somewhere very far, to collect talents and ideas, before finding our real spot in the world.

It is time for me to tell you how I became a purpose and talent agent.

 My mother really loved beauty, and nature. She did a number of things in her working life – competently, seriously, and well. And then one day she became a flower decorator. I got to see first-hand the transformation in her. Her job was no longer something she did, but something she was. 

So I grew up understanding the difference between doing something for a living, and doing what you are meant to do. And when I started working, I also started looking for my purpose. I understood it had something to do with people, with communicating, and with making a positive impact on the world. So I worked at the UN in New York. I worked in public affairs. I fundraised for a charity. I enjoyed most it, learned a lot, made good friends. And through my work, I started to understand where my true passions and talents lay. Empathy, intuition, the capacity to connect people, ideas and networks to make things happen, and the desire to make a real difference in the lives of individual people. 

I started to turn these talents into a job almost by accident. I was in the middle of an MBA programme in Milan, and every single one of my fellow students seemed to looking to change the course of their careers. Fluidly, I started to become a point of reference. I “get” people, and can see what they want to do, what they are brilliant at, and perhaps even how they might get themselves into their dream jobs. What started off as fun slowly became real. This is how I began to focus on the subject of inner purpose, be it of individuals or collectively pursued by an organization. As companies and people are urged to contribute to society more than ever, I created my own blueprint and methodology to identify, understand and effectively communicate purpose, both for individuals and organizations, thus hoping to give my personal contribution to the progress of human kind.

  • First Secretary of the Mission of the Republic of San Marino to the U.N.
  • Chief Assistant to the President of the International Association of the Permanent Representatives
  • Project Manager in the field of communication and public affairs also among international clients.
  • Junior Benefit Committee for the American Italian Cancer Foundation in New York,
  • Special Adviser to the United Nations Women4Peace Association.

I currently live in Milan and recently graduated with an MBA at Bocconi University.
